Description:

Reactive Extensions for .NET

Abstract: Asynchronous programming is hard. Really hard. Version 4 of the .NET framework introduced several useful asynchronous libraries and abstractions, including IObserver/IObservable interfaces, the System.Threading.Tasks namespace, and PLINQ, but didn't tie these together with a higher-order, cohesive API. The Reactive Extensions for .NET (Rx.NET, informally) fills this gap by building on these concepts and bringing event-based programming and LINQ together. We'll explore how Rx.NET can make event handling more declarative, push-based programming less painful, and your code hopefully better :).
